Scotland is easily accessed from the rest of the world with many international air travel companies flying regular scheduled services from North America, Australia, Hong Kong and many European cities. There are regular ferry services from Europe to the UK and a direct ferry service from Zeebrugge to Rosyth (close to Edinburgh). Eurostar provides a direct train link from Paris to London and frequent rail services can whisk you to Scotland in around 5
hours
Travelling within Scotland is relatively easy, and away from the main cities, you can enjoy the pleasures of the country with few traffic jams, except for the occassional sheep of course. If you are planning to visit any of the many Scottish islands, remember to check with the ferry company and add this factor in to your journey time. The compensation is that you can 'let the captain take the strain' while you get a chance to relax and take in the
view.
